Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Jollygem is a family quest and reward app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what the app needs to work, we have no ads and no tracking, and we never sell your data.
Who we are
Jollygem is made by Binary Cabin. Contact: support@goombaapp.com.
Information we collect
Parent account. Your email address and name, used to sign you in with a one-time code sent by email. Your parent PIN is stored only in hashed form.
Family content. The information you add to the app: kid names or nicknames, chosen avatars, quests, rewards, gem balances, screen-time balances, and money entries such as allowance, payments, and purchases, along with notes you type. We also keep a history of actions in your family (for example approvals) so mistakes can be traced and fixed.
Kids. Kids do not create accounts and do not give us an email address. A parent creates the kid profile and pairs the kid's phone with a short-lived code or QR code. We ask parents to use a first name or nickname only. We do not ask kids for any other personal information.
Technical data. Our server keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and time) for security and troubleshooting. The app stores your sign-in token in the iOS Keychain on your device.
Camera. If you choose to scan a pairing QR code, the app uses the camera to read the code. Images are not saved or sent anywhere.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads.
- We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for marketing.
How we use information
- To run the app: sign you in, show your family's quests, rewards, balances, and history, and keep them in sync across your devices.
- To send sign-in codes and other account emails.
- To send optional parent notifications, if you turn them on.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the app:
- Amazon Web Services (Lightsail) hosts our server and database in the United States.
- Brevo delivers our emails, such as sign-in codes. It receives your email address and the message.
- ntfy (optional) delivers push notifications to parents. If you set a notification topic, short messages such as a kid's name and a quest or reward title are sent to the ntfy service under that topic name. Anyone who knows the topic name can read those messages, so choose a long, random topic. Leave it blank to turn notifications off.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Children's privacy
Jollygem is designed for parents to use with their children. Parents create and manage kid profiles, and a parent must be involved to set up a kid's device. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child, and we collect no more than a nickname, an avatar, and the quest and reward activity the parent chooses to track. A parent can review or delete a child's information at any time, in the app or by contacting us. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, contact us and we will delete it.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete Account). This permanently removes your family, kids, quests, rewards, money history, and sign-in information from our live database. Server backups are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted, so removed data can remain in backups for that period. You can also email us to request deletion or a copy of your data.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Sign-in uses one-time email codes, kid pairing codes are short-lived and stored hashed, and parent actions like approvals and money changes are protected by a PIN. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete the information you add at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
